Documentation-based review, without independent bench testing. Scores are editorial; prices are reference values. Confirm the seller’s current offer.
A documented 150 MHz passive probe with a 10–60 pF compensation range. It is an ordinary probing option, not a fine-pitch grabber set; its CAT I rating must match the measurement environment.

What We Like
- ✓150 MHz at 10X; 10–60 pF compensation
- ✓Documented accessories and 1.2 m cable
Limitations
- ✗CAT I 300 V, not a CAT II/III mains-installation probe
- ✗1X bandwidth is lower and depends on the scope input
Overview
SP150B is a real, documented Pomona passive oscilloscope probe. We added it after withdrawing an unsupported 5518 catalog description. It does not perform the same job as a fine-pitch grabber set.
Review basis: manufacturer documentation and a dated exact-model Amazon identity check. No hands-on measurements or ownership experience are claimed.
Compatibility and limits
The datasheet gives 150 MHz at 10X, up to 15 MHz at 1X and a 10–60 pF compensation range at 10X. It requires a compatible 1 MΩ input. The broad compensation range is a reason to consider it, but the connected instrument still determines system performance.
Read the qualifiers
At 10X, published input capacitance is less than 15 pF and rise time is less than 3.33 ns. Those are upper bounds, not exact measured values. The 1.2 m probe has no readout actuator. Its 300 V CAT I rating is not CAT II or CAT III; it must not be promoted as a mains-installation probe.
Buying decision
Choose it when its compensation range and supplied adapters fit your bench. If you only need the narrower range supported by PVP2150, compare current offers before paying more. For small-pitch IC access, choose a documented clip system matched to the package pitch; SP150B is not a substitute for that selection.
